Solar System Completed

Our Solar System is officially hung! It has been placed in the out-door play area,so that it can be viewed and revisited. Last night we stomped around the yard under the moon showing the little ones the moon in the sky in comparison to where the earth and moon are in our Solar Sytem {mobile}.It will be up until they have mastered in there own time the names and places of all the planets in our Milky Way Galaxy.

Handprint Ornament

Handprint ornaments make the best keepsakes. Pulling the decorations out year after year and seeing just how tiny my kids hands were way back when makes me smile. These ornaments are super easy and work well with hands or feet.

You will need:

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
ribbon

1. Put the salt and flour into a mixing bowl and add water.
2. Mix the ingredients well. The dough should be firm.
3. Knead the dough until it's smooth. Pull a piece off and roll it into a ball.
4. With a rolling pin roll the dough into a circle about a 1/2 inch thick.
5. Press your child's hand into the dough.

6. Poke 2 holes in the top of the ornament.

7. Bake in a 200 degree oven for 2-3 hours. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool. Add a ribbon to hang it and you have the perfect keepsake ornament.

The ability to be creative, to create something from personal feelings and experiences, can reflect and nurture children's emotional health. The experiences children have during their first years of life can significantly enhance the development of their creativity.













The little ones had some much needed Art-Time this afternoon.They were enjoying themselves so much,even their older brothers joined in.....
